SCH Presents: The Burning of Formaxia Quartus

The Formaxian Campaign is no longer a skirmish in a seemingly insignificant galactic locale. Both Loyalist and Traitor forces have been steadily increasing their forces in the system as the battle has gained more and more importance. The system is no longer insignificant to the higher echelons of Legion command, and rumours persist that even Primarchs speak the name Formaxia with gravity.

The war began upon Formaxia Primus, where Loyalist forces mustering for operations into the galactic east were struck by a sudden Traitor offensive. Although Imperial histories record Primus as a Loyalist victory (a claim countered by Traitor forces), the terrible losses suffered by both sides ensured that neither could truly claim mastery of the world. The war for Formaxia had begun.

Attention soon turned to the rogue planetoid of Vortigon. Racing through the system upon its extraordinary elliptical orbit, Vortigon offered its occupiers a base from which raids could be launched against almost any Formaxian world. After bitter fighting, the planetoid fell into Traitor hands, providing the Warmaster’s forces with a dagger pointed towards the heart of the system.

Yet upon Formaxia Secundus, the Loyalists secured a prize of far greater destructive potential. The battered Gloriana-class battleship Crusade & Endurance survived attempts to seize her and remained in Loyalist hands. Once restored to battle-readiness, her guns threaten to overturn the balance of power throughout Formaxia.

Unable to challenge such power directly, the Traitors have turned instead towards the lifeblood of the Loyalist war effort.

Formaxia Quartus.

A fertile and prosperous world, Quartus has thus far escaped the devastation visited upon its neighbours. Its agricultural regions, processing centres and vast stores sustain populations and armies across the Formaxian system. While other worlds burned, the people of Quartus watched the war from afar.

No longer.

From their stronghold upon Vortigon, Traitor forces have begun a new offensive. Their purpose is not simply conquest. If Quartus cannot be held for the Warmaster, its resources must be denied to the Emperor. Crops can burn. Storehouses can be destroyed. Infrastructure can be shattered. A world capable of sustaining billions can be reduced to ashes.

Loyalist forces now race to Quartus knowing that victory will demand more than the destruction of their enemy. They must preserve the very world upon which they fight. Every settlement lost, every supply depot destroyed and every field put to the torch threatens their ability to continue the wider war.

For the first time, the people of Quartus will witness the Legiones Astartes not as distant warriors amongst the stars, but as angels of death walking upon their soil.

For years, Formaxia Quartus watched the war amongst the stars.

Now, the war has come to them.

Join us as we play the fourth instalment of the main Formaxian Campaign. 3,000-point armies from all factions will battle for the fate of Formaxia Quartus — a world, until now, untouched by war.
